David’s Skills Reference (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the site”) operates the website
skills.davidsandeep.co.uk (and its underlying static export mirror at the
GitHub Pages origin). This page explains what data we collect, what we do
with it, and how third-party vendors — including Google AdSense — use
cookies to serve advertising on this site.
By using the site, you agree to the data practices described below.
This site is a read-only technical reference. It does not require an
account, does not collect email addresses, and does not run analytics of its
own. The only data our origin server sees per request is:
- the URL requested,
- the HTTP referer (if your browser sent one),
- a generic
User-Agent string,
- the client IP address (used by Cloudflare Pages for rate-limit /
abuse-prevention only; never stored alongside pageviews).
We do not log pageviews to any first-party database and we do not run
Google Analytics, Plausible, Matomo, or any other first-party analytics.
If you write to us at the contact address listed on our Contact
page, we will receive the contents of your email and the email headers
required to reply. We do not retain that correspondence longer than necessary
to fulfil your request.
2. Third-party vendors & cookies (AdSense / DoubleClick)
We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by
Google LLC (“Google”). AdSense uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve
ads based on your visit to skills.davidsandeep.co.uk and/or other sites
on the Internet.
What Google records
- Cookies (including the DART cookie) for ad delivery and personalisation.
- Reads of device identifiers when a mobile app is the access path (not
applicable here — this is a website only).
- IP address, truncated to city granularity (per Google’s documentation).
How to opt out
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
You can opt out of some — but not all — third-party vendors’ use of cookies
for interest-based advertising at www.aboutads.info.
For EU / UK visitors the consent banner surfaced by Google’s funding choices
(TCF v2.2) governs any personalised ad selection. Non-personalised ads
(contextual only) are served if consent is declined or unavailable.

3. Data we send to GitHub Pages / Cloudflare
The site is generated as a static export (next build → out/) and served
either from Cloudflare Pages (skills.davidsandeep.co.uk) or as a fallback
from GitHub Pages. Both providers log:
- request URL,
- HTTP status code,
- bytes served,
- IP address (infrastructure-only, rotated per provider’s own retention policy).
These logs are used for abuse prevention, capacity planning, and DDoS
mitigation only. We do not export them, share them, or correlate them with
any other dataset.

The reference content on this site includes outbound links to:
- source-code repositories on GitHub,
- documentation pages of third-party libraries (e.g. FastAPI, LangGraph, AWS),
- articles and blog posts by other authors.
We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the content or privacy
practices of those external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy
policy of every site that collects personal information.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the
top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be
announced by a short note on the homepage for at least 30 days.
